Hey it’s SHOWTIME, your fearless repOrter working the summer beat. I had an idea today to maybe let you all in on some things we’re up to. Don’t thank me, it’s my responsibility now; maybe you’ll even see more of these “up-dates”, or whatever the kids call ‘em, in the near future. Probably not! Welcome to the summer desk. As the fun increases, so do you.
-We’re playing Central Park with Flaming Lips on July 26th. This show is sold out but we encourage you to get in any way you can. For example, one time a writer friend got me in to see M.I.A by insisting that I was her photographer and somebody screwed up. See? Fun.
-We’ll be spending the coming months releasing limited 12” after limited 12” of solar insOnity to prepare you for the wind. If you haven’t picked up our split with Pterodactyl on Altin Village and Mine, you’re not only snoozin’. Next up: two new tracks on a one-sided 12”, released by the Italian label Xhol Recordings. This should be available in time for Oneida’s July 31 set at the Here I Stay Festival in Sardinia!
-We’re touring the west coast in August. I’ll put the dates up just as soon as I can. Until then, let form fill with breath-essence to the top of the head, and there shower as light.
-Kid Millions has been busy with a solo project called Man Forever. The album was recorded at the Ocropolis this winter and released in a hand-screened edition of 250 by Jag Jag imprint St. Ives. My mom even saw this in the paper.
It is true that the third and final installation from the Thank Your Parents trilogy is complete. It is indeed titled Absolute II and it is every bit the conclusion of this infinitely inward/outward/O-ward journey, like hearing the sound of sounds.
Enough already! I got a solo album to finish. -s
